Trained Teams

Creative training for deeper collaboration and trust

Trained Team workshops weave creative practice with soft skills development. Through guided artmaking, teams explore how they listen, communicate and work together under pressure. Participants move beyond day-to-day roles to notice patterns, surface assumptions and practise new ways of collaborating. These sessions are designed for teams who are ready to do more than just bond – they want to grow.

Soft skills and outcomes Trained Team workshops support

Each Trained Team program is tagged with the soft skills it develops and the organisational outcomes it supports. When you browse programs, you can filter by these tags to find the right workshop for your team.

Why choose Trained Team experiences

Trained Team experiences are designed for teams who want to strengthen how they work together, not just how often they see each other. Using art as a neutral, hands-on medium, participants explore listening, perspective-taking and shared problem solving. The process is structured but flexible, allowing real issues and dynamics to surface in a safe, supportive way.

Rather than talking about collaboration in the abstract, teams practise it in real time: negotiating shared space on a canvas, deciding together how an artwork will evolve, and responding to uncertainty through creative choices. This experience often reveals unspoken habits and assumptions, while giving people a practical, memorable way to try new behaviours.

Sarah,
"I just wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you to Dya for creating such a wonderfully warm, fun and creative space for us to paint and connect. It was such a stress-free and easy experience in terms of setup. Dya made it clear nothing was too much trouble and their passion and confidence in our abilities was so encouraging. The best team-building investment I've ever made."

FAQ about our corporate workshops

Here are some common questions we hear from organisations planning creative workshops and team building activities.

Yes. We deliver sessions at our Port Melbourne studio, at client sites across Melbourne, and online or in hybrid formats. Some programs work particularly well in person; others can be adapted for remote teams. When you enquire, we will discuss location options and what is realistic for your team.

We have 3 studios in our venue, biggest space can fit up to 60 people seated. The whole venue across all studios can fit about 100 people.

Offsite and online we have the ability to accommodate hundreds of people.

No. Our workshops are designed for people who do not see themselves as creative. Instructions are clear and step-by-step, and the focus is on the experience and conversation, not on producing a perfect artwork. Many participants tell us that they are surprised by how comfortable and enjoyable the process feels.

Most of our corporate workshops run between 2 to 3 hours. We can also design shorter creative resets or half-day and full-day experiences for conferences and strategy days. Timing is flexible and we will recommend a format that suits your goals and group size.

Yes. Many organisations choose Trained Team workshops specifically to support existing culture, DEI or leadership initiatives. We can work with your language and frameworks, and design reflection prompts that connect the creative experience back to the concepts your people already know.

Our facilitators are experienced in holding group processes and know that real work can bring real feelings to the surface. We set clear agreements at the start, and we design activities so that people can share at a level that feels safe. If sensitive themes arise, we respond respectfully and keep the focus on learning, understanding and what will help the team move forward.

Pre-work is usually light and may include a short briefing call, a few reflection questions for leaders or a quick survey to help us understand your context. After the workshop, we can provide a short summary of themes and suggestions for next steps, so the insights are easier to integrate into your ongoing L&D or team development plans.

Yes, many organisations record these sessions as part of their internal professional development or capability-building programs. If you need documentation for internal PD records, we can provide an outline of the workshop focus, soft skills developed and hours attended.
