Step into the captivating world of printmaking and uncover the historical methods of reproduction used in art. This workshop invites students to embark on a journey through time, delving into the secrets of printing and duplication from ancient China to the present day. Gen Z will have the opportunity to explore the art of printmaking and witness the transformation of positive images into mesmerizing negative prints, and back again.

During this workshop, students will gain a deeper understanding of the techniques employed for reproducing copies before the era of modern printing. They will discover historical printing methods and experience the reversal of thinking inherent in printmaking. They will explore the captivating process of creating copies from positive to negative and back again, challenging traditional notions of creation. This intriguing approach to printmaking opens unique artistic possibilities and encourages participants to think creatively and critically.

Learning outcomes:

Students will examine historical techniques of reproducing art before modern printing methods.

Students will explore the process of transforming positive images into negative prints, fostering creativity and artistic possibilities.
