February at Dya Aus: Doodle

Jean Dubuffet Échec à l’être inspired doodling artwork exploring spontaneous lines and playful creativity

If creativity begins with a single line, where might it lead?

February is often when the year starts to gather momentum. Ideas begin to take shape, routines settle in, and new projects start to move forward. That makes it the perfect time to focus on doodling.

This month at Dya, we explore how simple marks on a page can open the door to creative thinking. Through playful sketches and spontaneous lines, we look at how curiosity, experimentation, and small visual ideas can grow into something unexpected. Inspiration comes from artists like Jean Dubuffet, whose work embraced raw expression and the freedom of making marks without worrying about perfection.

One and All Art-Based Workshop for All Ages – Education Program

Students begin with playful doodles and spontaneous sketches, experimenting with lines, shapes, and repeating patterns. Each drawing gradually becomes part of a larger shared artwork, where individual ideas connect to form a collective mural. Through this hands-on creative process, participants explore imagination, collaboration, and the excitement of building something together from simple marks on a page.

Picasso Self-Portrait – Corporate Program

Teams start with loose sketches inspired by Picasso’s expressive style, experimenting with bold lines, playful shapes, and unexpected perspectives. As the portraits develop, participants explore how quick doodles can transform into striking compositions. The activity encourages curiosity, conversation, and creative confidence while inviting teams to see familiar subjects in new ways.

We use creative workshops as a chance to slow things down and explore ideas in new ways. Art helps teams and students notice what usually gets missed — the small details, emerging patterns, and the different perspectives people bring to the table. When people take that time, conversations open up and new possibilities begin to appear.

February reminds us that creativity often starts with something simple. A quick sketch, a spontaneous line, or a small doodle can open the door to bigger ideas.
