July at Dya Aus: The Journey of Maps

July at Dya Aus - Mapping

Can a Map Reflect More Than Just Direction?

As July comes to a close, we reflect on this month’s exploration of The Journey of Maps. A theme that invited us to think beyond geography. Maps became a metaphor for vision, curiosity, and connection. We looked at how sketches can guide decision-making, how incomplete maps encourage innovation, and how our internal networks shape the way we relate to others. Each post invited us to see mapping not as a fixed route, but as an evolving creative process—one that helps us trace meaning, direction, and possibility in our personal and professional lives.

What marks will you carry forward into your next chapter?

Imprint of Thought

In this workshop, students discover how shapes, textures, and patterns come together to tell visual stories. Guided by experienced facilitators, children experiment with a variety of tools and materials to create unique prints they can proudly take home. The session builds artistic confidence, encourages self-expression, and supports creative thinking through tactile, engaging activities tailored to curious young minds.

Art Well-Being Program

Blending mindfulness with visual art practices, this workshop offers a restorative space where participants can reflect, reset, and create in a calm, supportive setting. Whether exploring colour, form, or personal symbolism, the session promotes stress relief, mental clarity, and a renewed sense of team connection. It’s an ideal way to support workplace wellbeing while fostering creativity and shared insight.

July

As we close the chapter on maps and movement, we prepare to return to something more elemental. August at Dya is about Earth—a theme that grounds us in the sensory, the physical, and the shared. Through art, nature, and intentional connection, we’ll explore what it means to be rooted—individually and together. From clay and pigment to body and breath, next month invites you to work with your hands, settle into your centre, and discover how creativity grows when it’s planted in presence.
