A Custom Creative Experience Inspired by Their Work
When AW Maritime approached Dya Australia for a team-building session, they were looking for an experience with a connection to their work.
The brief was to create a marine-inspired custom artwork for the team to paint together, bringing an element of their industry into a relaxed and creative Paint & Sip experience.
About AW Maritime
AW Maritime Pty Ltd is a Melbourne-based specialist port and coastal maritime engineering consultancy. The company provides engineering services across areas including project management, maritime structural analysis and design, dredging and coastal engineering, coastal planning, and construction supervision.
With the marine environment playing such a central role in their work, it provided a natural source of inspiration for their creative session with Dya.
From Engineering to the Easel
One of AW Maritime’s project engineers contacted Dya looking for a team-building experience that could be tailored to the organisation.
Rather than selecting an artwork with no connection to the group, the team wanted something marine-inspired and relevant to their line of business.
Dya developed the session around this idea, creating a custom painting experience that brought a familiar theme into a very different setting.
It was an opportunity to swap engineering projects for paintbrushes and approach the marine world from a creative perspective.
A Marine-Inspired Paint & Sip
During the Paint & Sip session, the AW Maritime team worked on the custom marine-inspired artwork while enjoying the social side of creating together.
A tailored artwork can give a corporate creative experience an additional connection to the people taking part. For AW Maritime, the marine theme linked the activity back to an environment that is central to their everyday work while giving the team a different way to engage with it.
The focus of the session was simple: make something together, enjoy the creative process, and see where a different perspective could take them.
